The ✅ photo shows an alternative to the ❌ .

It is by no means the ONLY correct way, but something to try out and feel how it works for you.

The average car seat is bulky and weighs about 15 lbs. Now add your LO in there, and it starts to get heavy!

The way you move matters.

The lunge may work best for someone with preexisting back pain, prolapse, diastasis recti, or leakage with activities.

It may not be the best position as baby gets heavier. A proper squat may be best as baby grows and your body heals and strengthens

Regardless of specific positions top tips for caring for your back and pelvic floor when dealing with a car seat:
🌬 Blow before you go. Exhale as you lift to engage your core and make sure you’re not holding your breath
🫂 Keep car seat close to your body. The further the seat is away from your body, the more load it puts on your back and pelvic floor.
🕰 Limit the amount of time your carry the car seat. Have alternative carrying options nearby such as a stroller or babywearer. A click-in car seat stroller may be a great option for you!
🎒Don’t carry other things while lifting/carrying a car seat. Use a backpack-style diaper bag or make two trips.
